As you can tell now I have a lot of experience with party and event planning and have a good eye for design and detail. I think that’s why I thought for a while that I would be able to coordinate the wedding myself. After meeting with you the first night at the Venue I knew I was wrong and that I actually needed a day of coordinator. I also knew right away that your experience and personality would fit perfectly and work well with both Dana and I. And I was right about that.
Thank you, Thank you, and Thank you for everything.
We found the space to be very reasonably priced for a 12 hour rental (~10am-10pm). The ‘a la carte’ option allowed us to pick and chose our vendors. We’re big on supporting local businesses, which also made our wedding very affordable. I definitely recommend hiring an event designer for decor as the interior space is pretty bland as is. We incorporated chiffon draping from the ceiling and up-lighting which really helped to transform the ballroom area. We also had the option of bringing in any other decor that we wanted so we were really able to personalize the event which made it even more special. A lot of the personalization came from DIY decorations and props; we set up a ‘photo booth’ backdrop and brought in our own custom centerpieces and signage.
The maximum capacity for the venue is 200 and we had 150 people at our wedding, which felt appropriate for the space and not too crowded. We also rented the downstairs ‘bridal suite’ which was the perfect place to hide out while guests arrived before the ceremony. We had the ballroom space upstairs set up for dinner with round tables and converted the front section of the venue into the dance floor which worked out perfectly. A requirement for the bar was that it must be located outside, which was fine because it gave guests an opportunity to get some fresh air and take in the incredible views of San Diego. If you have a summer event, Renee suggests the perfect way to send off your guests with the SeaWorld fireworks. This worked out perfectly, we had a sparkler exit, then watched the fireworks show which was completely visible from the parking lot of the venue! After the show, all guests had exited the premises by the 10pm curfew so it was excellent timing.
In summary, I can’t imagine a more perfect place to have had our wedding. Our guests raved about everything from the venue and the view to the food and booze options, It was truly the best day ever!
Renee was so accommodating to our needs and not only helped us choose vendors but she helped us save thousands of dollars with them!
We had a very large wedding and without her running the show our wedding would have been out of control. She made sure everything ran smooth.
Renee is very professional and easy to get in touch with, she returned every phone call and email in a timely manner and helped our every need and then some. She is very reasonable in price and a great person to work with!
We recommend The Soledad Club for a wedding venue and we highly recommend you hire Renee Hirsh to coordinate your wedding. (Yelp View)
Where do I begin to show my gratitude towards such an amazing restaurant!? May 1, 2010 was the day of our magical wedding and we were so honored to have French Gourmet cater our event. Along the journey, we were visited by their top Wedding Angel, Renee Hirsh. With both her and Michel’s expertise and knowledge, they were able to help us manifest the perfect Wedding of our dreams! The food was beyond delicious! We are still getting rave reviews from our guests, saying it was the best food they have ever had, not only at a Wedding, but food in general! They served everything with elegance and complete professionalism. Everything from the appetizer tables, the bar set ups, the buffet all looked so amazing. You truly felt like you were along the French Riveria enjoying the best meal ever!
Since day one, both Michel and Renee have gone above and beyond to make this process easier and managable. Knowing that we had such a reputable company taking care of our catering gave us a feeling of calm and ease. Food, besides the Love you feel between the couple is the most important aspect of any Event or Wedding. Guests come to fill their bellies with delicious foods. There is nothing like ‘breaking bread’ with friends and family. So having the top catering company is crucial to pulling off a grand celebration. We highly recommend The French Gourmet to anyone looking for tasty, amazingly delicious food, complete professionalism and kindness. The whole staff was so exceptionally trained and skilled. We just can’t say enough good things about Michel and the Empire he has built.
Thank you to all of you at French Gourmet for everything you have done to create such a lasting memory for my husband, family and myself. We miss you already! You absolutely amazed all of us. Till next time…
